milla collagen

can i take collagen while breastfeeding?

yes. milla collagen is a great source of amino acids and protein. It is also very easily absorbed, even in those with challenged digestive systems. combined with its utility in improving and maintaining health in a number of areas, this makes regular collagen supplementation a great source for additional amino acids and protein during breastfeeding.

can I take milla collagen while pregnant?

while collagen is regarded as safe for general use, we know that pregnancy is an important moment for all. being a marine collagen (sourced from fish scales) some will choose to wait till after pregnancy before using. we'd suggest if you werent sure, to have a chat with your midwife or healthcare professional.

what type of collagen do you use?

we only use sustainably sourced marine collagen in our products. from fish scales, a by-product of the fishing industry in france. our marine collagen has been hydrolysed for easy absorption and is gluten and dairy free.

how much collagen can i have per day?

there are alot of mixed messages about how much collagen to have per day. studies have prooved that 2.5g per day is enough to see improvements. at milla we reccomend 5g per day for results you'll see and love, but if you want to get there quicker increase this to 10g. we suggest on our functional range and inner health ranges only having two serves per day max, due to the highly effective functional ingredients we add. you can mix and match milla products, with no problems caused by having different products each day. all of our ingredients with exact amounts are listed on the product pages. if you are unsure about anything drop us an email (hello@millacollagen) or speak with your nutritionist or gp.

does your collagen taste like fish?

no! our nude marine collagen is highly purified and hydolysed, meaning it's fine and without taste or smell. if you are sensitive to the taste of fish products we do have a range of products to help you enjoy all the benefits from collagen.

is milla collagen vegan?

no, none of our products are vegan, as they all contain marine collagen. collagen is found in the skin of animals, thus making vegan collagen powders exceptionally rare.

where are your products made?

right here in new zealand. we make all of our products ourself, not at a contract manufacturer, which ensures we have full confidence in the products we send to you.

why should i take a collagen supplement?

as we age our body isn't able ot produce enough collagen naturally, meaning supplements play an important role in reducing the signs of aging. although several foods contain collagen, they are not absorbed into the body as well as hydrolised collagen. milla collagen is hydrolised which means it's already broken down to make it easy for the body to absorb and digest.

milla protein

why is protein good for me?

research shows that we lose an average of 5-8% of our muscle mass each decade over the age of 30. protein also provides you body with the fuel it needs to do more. taking a protein suppliment during the day will help prevent muscle loss as we age, whilst keeping your full of energy to live a demanding lifestyle. protein is also linked to helping maintain a healthy weight range, curbing some of the urges to snack during the day.

how much collagen per serve does the protein range contain?

each serve of our new probiotic protein powder with collagen contains 5g of the same marine collagen we use in all of our products.

how many probiotics are in each serve?

probiotics are know to aid digestion and help maintain good gut health so a vital part of your diet.each serve contains 5 billion probiotics per serve. we have added lactobacillus acidophilus and bifidobacterium lactis into all our protein powder products. lactobacillus acidophilus is a bacteria which helps the digestive system break down sugars, such as lactose, into lactic acid. bifidobacterium lactis digests dietary fiber, helps prevent infection and produce healthy chemicals.

are any of the protein powders vegan?

no, none of the range is vegan as they all contain marine collagen.

when is the best time to consume protein?

there are different times depending on what your overall goal is. for healthy weight management, consuming protein between meals may help curb those cravings and result in cosuming less calories later in the day. if building muscle strength is your goal, it is often recommended protein suppliments are consumed up to 60 minutes post workout.

what type of whey protein do you use?

we only use 100% whey protein isolate. our whey protein comes from fonterra here in nz, who we think do a pretty good job raising grass fed cows. there is nothing imported about our whey protein. we choose whey isolate, not the cheaper concentrates, as it undergoes more processing, which results in a higher protein content with less carbs, lactose and fat.
